The Clinton Campaign Strategy

Thank you Californiahefty for the following listserv:
"If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can not harm us."
                    —-An African proverb

A possible Clinton strategy just came into focus after Ferraro's comments.

On the surface her comments were racist and ignorant.  Ferraro acknowledged that she was trying to drag Obama's campaign down.  What if that's just what's on the surface?

What if Ferraro is trying to help the Clintons drag the entire Democratic party down?  Or seriously damage or divide the party before the November election?

What if the Clinton camp thinks Hillary can't win the nomination so they want Obama to lose in November?  If you think what I'm asking is absurd, you don't know hardball Washington politics.  It also means you have not been adding all the Clinton dirty tricks together.  Take a look at them as a calculated chain of events.  Now what do you see?  It's not so absurd, if you think about it.

By my humble math she has to win at least 61% of all the remaining pledged delegates to get ahead of Obama.  Some media stat boys say she needs at least 64%. Win or lose in Pennsylvania, if Obama makes it a close race, she'll need more than 70% of the delegates left after Pennsylvania.

Think of the possibility that the Clintons are using a, "Heads I win.  Tails you lose." strategy.

Heads means if they wins the nomination, they get what they want.
Tails means if Obama gets the nomination and the Clintons have wounded the Democratic Party with their dirty tricks so divisively that McCain wins the election.  That means the Clintons will get another shot at the White House in four years.  If they can't have the nomination now, they'll get it in 4 years.  Hillary would almost automatically be the Democratic nominee in four years if Obama lost in November.  To them, this strategy may be better than waiting 8 years for Obama to leave office.

If I'm rignt, the "What's Hillary hiding?" question is answered.  Not releasing her Tax and White House information at all or as late as possible in the primary season makes sense.

The Clinton's dirty tricks machine could turn away millions of young voters and minorities.  It has already had a chilling effect as evidenced by the polls.  It doesn't take much to disillusion people who want to believe things are different this time.

Add the Florida and Michigan voters' disenchantment over their primary fiascos to the Clintons acting more like Republicans than Democrats and the party has a massive amount of unifying to do before November.

We can't win without a unified Democratic party in November.  There are only 237 days left for us to get it together before the election.  The Clinton camp knows that.  Still they keep trying to make wounds that will not heal quickly.

More and more of the Clintons' dirty tricks are looking like Republicans dirty tricks.

Does that mean if Hillary can't have the nomination, the Clintons want McCain to win in November?

"Heads I win. Tails you lose." still sound absurd? Okay.  We'll see.
